The Paragon 1200 A3 Pro is an advanced professional large-format scanner that scans up to a full 11.7" x 17". The A3 Pro captures 68.7 billion colors in a single-pass. This prepress-caliber scanner comes with image editing and photo-retouching software.
With its 36-bit color abilities, the A3 Pro can capture over 68.7 billion colors in a single-pass. The 36-bit data is used by color management software to accurately display and reproduce the best possible 24-bit image. The Paragon 1200 A3 Pro is a TWAIN compliant scanner. Through TWAIN the 1200 A3 Pro can scan directly into many supported applications. Large-Format Scanning The Paragon 1200 A3 Pro can scan images up to 11.7" x 17" in a single-pass. That is large enough to scan an A3 size drawing or two letter-size pages simultaneously. Cross Platform Scanner The 1200 A3 Pro is truly a cross-platform scanner. It includes all the software and hardware necessary to operate under Windows 3.1, Windows 95/98 and in Macintosh environments. Windows installation is effortless with the included 16-bit Adaptec Plug-and-Play SCSI card. Under Windows 3.1, the driver allocates the required resources. Windows 95/98 automatically recognizes the interface card when installed and sets all required resources. |

Macintosh installation is even easier, the scanner plugs into the Mac's built-in SCSI port and the software is all on CD-ROM. The full versions of Picture Publisher 5.0 for Windows 3.1 and 6.0 for Windows 95/98 are both included on CD-ROM. Picture Publisher's visual tools are easy to use and allow unparalleled creative freedom. They provide an interactive preview to display the results before they are applied. If a mistake is made, Picture Publisher's Infinite Undo™ and Command Layering™ can eliminate any previous action or rearrange the order in which commands were applied. MicroFrontier's Color It! is provided for Macintosh users. Color It! has useful tools that will lighten, darken, sharpen, smudge, blur and rotate images.
The ScanSoft TextBridge Classic software allows documents to be scanned for editing in word processing software. TextBridge is powerful and easy to use, capable of recognizing many different fonts at various sizes, quickly and accurately converting scanned documents into an editable document.
The included image editing software allows the Paragon 1200 A3 Pro to save in JPEG and GIF file formats on PCs running Windows. The GIF file format allows transparent areas and interlaced downloading. The Paragon 1200 A3 Pro is rugged and reliable.
